Dovetail Tracker is made by BiteSite Inc. This page explains what the app and this website do with your information. In short: nothing leaves your Mac.
The app
- No accounts, no data collection. The app has no sign-in and sends no analytics, crash reports or usage data to us or anyone else.
- Works offline. It doesn't need an internet connection to record or export.
- Your audio stays yours. Projects, recordings and exports are saved only where you choose on your Mac. You decide who you send them to.
- Microphone. macOS asks for permission the first time. The app only reads your microphone or audio interface while a track is armed, monitored or metered, or while you're calibrating.
- Settings, such as your audio devices and latency calibration, are stored on your Mac.
This website
- These pages set no cookies and use no analytics or tracking.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. If a walkthrough video is shown, it's embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube's privacy policy applies when you play it.
- We count how many times the app is downloaded, by version and by date, and which page of this site the download started from. Nothing that identifies you is kept: no IP address, browser details or cookie.
- The download itself is served from a separate file host, which may keep standard server logs.
